I really do not like the way some of our sports are going. It irritates me to see a player actually cause physical harm to another player. This is a detraction from the purpose of the games, which is enjoyment and demonstration of skills.

I have in mind two situations, one is the obviously intentional hitting of a batter in baseball, and the other was the striking of another player in football with the helmet in such a way as to inflict mental and physical damage. To what level have sporting teams slipped?

To make matters worse, in the football scenario just described, the player that viciously hit the other playerpranced and danced, clapping teammates' hands in a gesture of “Boy, did I show him.”

I question as to what level the Big 10 Conference slid when such an intentional hit and the following flagrant action doesn't even merit a penalty. Will they wait until someone is killed?
